I haven't seen enough films of the '80s to select 5 of each year that qualify for a Top spot (you know, as in undeniable masterpiece - I'm picky that way). Zulawski and Rohmer would probably pop up quite a lot, also Godard. Special mention for Hal Hartley's debut feature, The Unbelievable Truth, and my all-time favorite, Emir Kusturica's Time of the Gypsies.
