The assigning scores worked better than I would have thought, though I suspect I should have rated the films amongst themselves, rather than amongst all of film. That would have resulted in more 10s and 1s for the films I liked and didn't like, giving my own votes more value.
With so few people seeing many of the films, it's difficult. Dropping the high and low scores would solve for The Bondo Effect. But in many cases you'd be left with only a handful of votes for some films, inflating even more the scores for the recent mainstream films more people have seen. I don't have a solution for that.
