In The Name Of The Father, 45˚
In America, 25˚

Extraordinary (81-100˚) | Very good (61-80˚) | Good (41-60˚) | Fair (21-40˚) | Poor (0-20˚)

It seems that In the Name of the Father will forever be as underrated as In America is overrated, welp.

Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2005)
★ ★ ★ – Okay
What’s interesting here is how it’s NOT like 8 Mile. That was a storyteller and a musician each playing to their strengths. Sheridan comes at this as a stranger in a strange land. He’s curious to learn about being a gangsta’. In exchange he makes no judgements on 50 Cent’s life choices, though the script tries real hard to justify everything. Another big difference, Mr. Cent doesn't have Eminem's intensity, so he performs mostly in looks and voice-over.

Dream House (2011)
★ ★
Sheridan’s attempt at genre is a poor fit, though to be fair the film was taken away from him in the edit. It’s a “big reveal” film, where the moment is awfully familiar. What happens after is too confused trying to keep the logic straight to provide any thrills.
