1980s US Bracket: Resurrections (Round 2)
« on: June 23, 2011, 03:02:38 AM »
This is going to be a long process (probably like two weeks), so bear with me. And check your PMs often.

There will be nine resurrections this round as follows:

9. jbissell - Random Resurrection - Choice of Three Round 2 Losers (which will then be put to a consensus vote) - The Verdict
8. Consensus Resurrection - Chosen from among all the Round 2 losers by everyone who's participated in the bracket - The Fly
7. Beavermoose - Random Resurrection - Choice of Three Round 2 Losers (which will then be put to a consensus vote) - The Blues Brothers
6. Bondo - Second Most Round 1 Verdicts - Choice of any Round 2 Loser - Full Metal Jacket
5. flieger - Random Resurrection - Choice of Three Round 2 Losers (which will then be put to a consensus vote) - Choose Me
4. GothamCity151 - Most Round 1 Verdicts - Choice of any Round 1 or Round 2 Loser - The Shining
3. matt tmw - Third Most Round 2 Verdicts - Choice of any Round 2 Loser - Dirty Dancing
2. Bondo - Second Most Round 2 Verdicts - Choice of any Round 1 or Round 2 Loser - Ferris Bueller's Day Off
1. flieger - Most Round 2 Verdicts - Choice of any Round 1 or Round 2 Loser - Cracking Up

So we need to work our way through this list, from top to bottom, to determine which films will be resurrected; then we need to go back through the list, from bottom to top, to determine which Round 2 Winners the resurrected films will square off against.

Once jbissell announces his top three candidates for resurrection (from the Round 2 losers), I'll start accepting ballots from everyone who's participated in the bracket to date. First, you'll rank jbissell's films in order of your resurrection preference; then you'll rank your own Top 6 candidates for resurrection (from among the Round 2 losers).

jbissell is first mover here. He'll select three films to consider for resurrection by the group.

Didn't Broadway Danny Rose beat Working Girl?

This is correct.

If you've participated in this bracket and would like a say in the Round 2 resurrections, PM me the following:

I.  jbissell's Resurrection

Rank the following three films in the order you think they deserve resurrection (with 1 being the film most deserving of resurrection and 3 the least):

Midnight Run / Repo Man / The Verdict

1.
2.
3.

Note: You should rank a film even if you haven't seen it. Read the previous verdicts for those films for inspiration.

II.  Consensus Resurrection

Choosing from all the round two losers (the films in blue in the first post of this thread), rank the Top 6 films you'd most like to see get resurrected:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

Please send me your ballots by the end of the day on Friday. Thanks!
