Un Chien Andalou (1st Viewing)
Bunuel's first film is on youtube, so I gave it a watch. This on is for the Eraserhead type crowd, which fortunately I consider myself a part of. some really grisly images, including the famous shot involving an eye near the beginning. I just had a cold shiver thinking about it. A "fun" exercise in surrealism.

Kings Ransom (1st Viewing)
I want to keep up with espns 30 for 30 documentary series but am having a really hard time with their schedule. Im a movie guy, not a tv guy, so Ive never bought Tivo. THis is the first time Ive really wanted it, because they show all these hour long movies at like 4, 5, and 6 oclock west coast so they arent conflicting with sports. I cant make it home from work by the beginning. Watched this one about the Gretzey trade from Edmonton to LA and thought it was quite good. Im not a hockey fan...but I remember first losing Griffey in Seattle and how hard that was for me as a teenager. And for various reasons, this Gretzey thing was a WAY bigger deal than that. Really interesting.

Blade Runner (1st viewing theatrical cut, 2nd overall as Ive seen either the directors or final cut before)
A really great movie that I decided to revisit since the details were starting to become fuzzy having not seen it in 4 or 5 years. I dont remember the film noir like voiceovers, but maybe thats because the verision I saw years ago didnt have it. Didnt really like it...it just tells you what is happening when the movie does a fine job letting you experience it for yourself. A great scifi movie that leaves you with a lot to think about.
