Sorry Chardy. I guess we dont have exacty the same tastes. I didnt like this one very much. I found Klein's accent irritating and there was not much chemistry between he and Ryan.

You.  :)

Nice review, and I understand what you're saying, but you're a little bit wrong.

The images make emotional and psychological sense. Narrative sense? Eh, I can't remember. The film is still stuck in my subconscious thanks to those images, which is good enough for enjoying cinema.

The Cove

Fantastic documentary.  Went with the girl by her suggestion (by suggestion from someone on these boards) and I am very glad we did.  It has all the elements of a fictional piece, including clear good guys vs bad guys, and a special ops team that does not disappoint, but it was all real.  Throw in some beautiful shots (and some chilling shots) and you've got a really solid documentary.  If I ever get the chance, I will do my part to save dolphins.  Preferably as part of some kind of undercover special ops unit.

He loves it when I make him go to artsy movies.

But yeah, we both loved this movie. It's beautiful.

Are the special ops for the evil dolphins from Treehouse of Horror, or human opponents?

ha ha. The dolphins in this movie didn't seem to pose us that kind of threat.

..... yet.

Heathers (Michael Lehmann, 1988)

Really very.

B

If you're after a little more, I loved about the first half hour, but I think it loses something as it goes on. The very end is super. Mean Girls obviously owes a debt, but may actually be the better film (or may not - in any case, it's close). Winona is great, Slater is creepy. Some great themes and ideas going on. Still holds up really well 20 years on, considering how dated it could be.
