The Big Sleep
1946 Dir. Howard Hawks

The kind of movie to show people who think all black and white movies are old, boring and worthless.
This would be my review of the film...because it would prove them right.  :P

Read the book!  It's more exciting and a lot sexier.  The movie was a let down afterward.

the movie inspired me to check the book out of the library today.

And you people dissing this movie are insane.  It's fantastic.  Now I want to go back and watch To Have and Have Not again, and see the other two Bogie/Bacall movies as well (Key Largo and....something....)

That would be Dark Passage, which I still need to see (haven't watched To Have and Have Not either). They also made a brief cameo together in a film called Two Guys from Milwaukee.

Zoo (2007, Robinson Devor)

I never would have imagined a movie about bestiality could be so boring.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008, Nicholas Stoller)

Officially not as funny as Get Him To The Greek. Not enough jokes.

Dear John (2010, Lasse Halstrom)

Cried like a baby. Channing Tatum should be in every movie.

Sex and the City 2  (2010, Michael Patrick King)

This is my reward for watching movies like Zoo. So pretty and decadent and excessive. Loved it.

Two Guys from Milwaukee.

I think there was just one, and he was a man:

Man From Milwaukee-Hanson

Being funny is overrated in movies.

Oh.  :(
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

I'm glad I got that all out in one post. Now I can go back to being cool and artsy.

Away We Go (Sam Mendes, 2009)

I think I was spared from hating this movie because I came into it having a really good idea what it would be like. Contrived? Yes. Messagey? Yes. Annoying and overused modern folk music? Yes. Away We Go had all these things and that sucked. But it also did some things pretty well. There were moments that made me laugh, I thought the two leads were mostly good and Maggie Gyllenhaal was so over the top it worked.

This is a film you can skip, but it does have it's moments. Overall, meh.
