I don't have much comment on the list. I guess the only thing people would reasonably expect me to respond to is the BttF vs Die Hard issue, which I don't care about anyway. I think people tend to take Back to the Future for granted, and on the flip side Die Hard is one of the two or three best examples of a genre, so it naturally sticks out more to people who create such lists, even when there is not a huge "personal" connection to it. Even for me, it's a Top 20 or 30 film. I think The Godfather is overrated, both in life and by the forum. I am actually surprised it has once again gotten the #1 spot. I don't feel like people tend to rally around The Godfather much around here, which makes it a bit unexpected for a #1. I think that otherwise, the list is as solid as any of the other lists. A ton of fun to read. A large number of the choices will be in my Essentials series, so I'll comment on them in more detail there. There are a few on the list that I don't like. Very few. Really only Lost in Translation, Mulholland Dr., Aguirre and Tree of Life. There are a few that I still have yet to see, and I really do need to rectify that. Other than that, I have not much to add, and any contribution from me in the form of a list would be so arbitrary that any skewing it would cause I would not be able to necessarily get behind anyway. Does it suck that Close Encounters didn't make the list? Sure, but I feel like that film is slowly being rediscovered by this forum for the amazing personal work of art that it is. In the meantime, I can't complain much about a list that has Raiders in the Top 10.

How's that for annotation?

Thanks again, Wilson. Loved the shot selection this year.

I had an overlap of 27 between my list and the big list. A pretty good number, I think. Fun times!

Thanks, Wilson, for doing this again - awesome job.

21 from my list made it.   Scenes from a Marriage being on the list this year was a nice surprise.

Except your BFF.

It's a good list. There are always a few I do not and will never agree with, but they are the ones that give our list personal charm. The biggest bummer is how many films where I was the only vote. Nearly a third. This year I decided to just submit my Top 100 even though I knew a few had no hope of making it. This strongly suggests I should do a little gaming next year. Would love to get a John Ford in there, particularly Liberty Valance.

Thanks, Wilson for all the hard work.

GAMING IS THE WORST POSSIBLE THING!

The highest Borzage was Lucky Star, likely because of my putting it at the 8 spot. It's on Qwikster, everybody!

I voted for Liberty Valance, and three other Fords.

Was Hawks shut out?  I don't recall seeing any classic Westerns. . .

I love this pseudo-community! Thanks Wilson, it has been so much fun. Since I only have 14 that are on the top 100 list, my thinking is that I've got me some movies to watch...Or, y'all got some movies to watch!  ;)

It's really seeing your individual lists that makes this endeavor worthwhile, the aggregated list is just a bonus.
Yep.

Thanks again, Wilson. Loved the shot selection this year.
YEP!

That'll probably be on my list next year.
