I didn't really know where else to put this... if anyone has a better idea, I'll move it.
I felt "bad" that my favorite genre, film noir, was underrepresented in my top 100, so I wanted to do a "top 100 noir". There's a lot of the obvious choices, but I think some lesser-known gems as well. For my definition of noir, I followed the same guidelines as the
250 Quintessential Noir Films list, namely:
1) They were all produced in the United States;
2) They were all shot in black-and-white;
3) They were all produced between 1940 to 1959.
As in their list, there are a few exceptions. And there's a hell of a lot of crossover with that list, but consider this a "best of the quintessential" (IMHO) with a few extras thrown in. I probably spent way too much time putting this list together and gathering all the screenshots, but it's done and here it is, in alphabetical order.
