Unless Scenes from a Marriage or Fanny & Alexander are in contention (both had theatrical releases), I don't have any special cases I'm considering for my top 100.

Are television movies included?  For instance: Temple Grandin, which was on HBO.  If so, should a long story like Lonesome Dove also be included?

As much as I love Dekalog and I'd love to see it included, the fact that it is a series of shorts and not one story disqualifies it for me.

Carlos, Fanny and Alexander and Scenes from a Marriage all have a theatrical release version.   If we are including television movies, I don't see why we shouldn't include their miniseries versions.  But would the votes be split between the two versions?

I'd love for the opportunity to vote for Kill Bill and The Godfather I and II as one film each.  (I saw The Godfather Saga first before watching the two films separately).  I think that each film is better as one narrative, rather than split up in their respective parts.  But it doesn't make sense to vote that way since no one else does.

3) Should mini-series be included?

I think there should be nuance in the categorization. For example, I would include something like THE STAIRCASE--a six-hour documentary presented as a television mini-series--but not GENERATION KILL, a season-long series developed for HBO. So, for me, I suppose the qualifying question would be: Is this truly episodic in nature, or a long-form piece broken down into episodic chunks?

Generation Kill was only 7 episodes.  The running time is 64 to 70 minutes for each epi.  I think it's a very cohesive work as much as Scenes from a Marriage and Fanny and Alexander.  But I'm pretty sure I'm alone on that.

I loved GK but would probably vote to exclude it. I don't necessarily have any criteria... just kind of going with what feels right.

Generation Kill was only 7 episodes.

Ah, so you're right. (Felt like a full HBO season.) I love it, but I still wouldn't count it.

Right, which is why I think it should be broken up into individual films.

(I saw The Godfather Saga first before watching the two films separately).

I think you should list THE GODFATHER SAGA. That's a specific edit that joins the first two films, much like KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR; different from putting down THE GODFATHER I & II or KILL BILL I & II.

I made (didn't post it up, though) a combined top 100 last year including films, tv series (not just mini-series) and stand-up specials.  Made a video, too, but I lost it.  :'(
