Listening to the Outside the Cinema podcast they had this list, which I thought was a good one for these boards.

Basically films you have seen once, that you thought were good or great films, but that you will never watch again.

A couple of suggestions to get you going: Breaking the Waves or Requiem for a Dream.

Filmspotting did this top 5 once in the show. I think both were in it plus Audition? It seemed like a list of films never to watch in the first place.

I've now watched Irreversible twice, so clearly there is nothing that I won't watch a second time based on content. Time limitations and quality however prevent me from revisiting a lot of things.

I guess Near Death is something I'll probably only see once. I like it a good deal but it is a 5.5 hour observational documentary about the ICU. That doesn't lend itself to being rewatched. Once I get around to watching Shoah I'm sure it can be added to the list of things I'll never want to watch again.

I'm a masochist, so I would not have any films to list.

I thought variations of this would turn up on this site.

If it's good enough, it's good enough a second time.

I'd also hesitate to say I would never rewatch a movie.  I've seen Dear Zachary twice even though it destroyed me.  I've seen Requiem for a Dream several times though I thought it quite disturbing after the first time I watched it.  And I even have a strange desire to watch Irreversible again.

But I will say a movie I've only seen once and am constantly thinking about revisiting but never seem to is 2001: A Space Odyssey.
