I was really enjoying the movie but I hit a wall when Harold has been told he must die because the book being written was "that important". I guess the world created didn't justify the rationalization that a person's life was less important than a novel about them. When Dustin Hoffman's character is explaining that Harold must die, I was dumbfounded. Somehow when Harold came to his own acceptance it was a little better, but my enjoyment of the movie dropped significantly after this point and couldn't be resurrected. Kind of frustrating.
I completely agree. Why is this woman's book more important than a human life? I could accept the fact that the book didn't come acoss as a masterpiece. If I were a book-lover it, I may have felt differently.
I loved this movie, but my hubby wanted it to remain the comedy that it began as.
