anyway he is my first contribution to the forum.
my top 5 of telephone conversations.. feeb back is most welcome. or add you own..

1  Scream .  just a great way to start the movie..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6sETH57eVs

2 Phonebooth ..   the whole movie is virtually just one great telephone call... gripping and intense..

3 Heat (1995)
Playing the most unlikely ‘Neil’ in cinematic history, Robert De Niro rings no-good double-crosser William Fichtner in Michael Mann’s crime classic. ‘I’m talking to an empty telephone. ‘Cos there is a dead man on the other end of this ******* line.’ That’s all well and good, Neil, but why did you call him up then?

4  The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)  the mobile phone call scean in waterloo station..
see clip

5 Jerry Maguire - Show me the Money --   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTFJocQBLyE

there's my list....
honurable mentions...  the call between prestents in Dr Starngelove..
The call between Freddy and Nancy - nightmare on elmstreet. which ends with him saying Im your Boyfriend Now

High Strung: Carpet Cleaning Survey
When Harry Met Sally: Watching Casablanca.
Juno: Hamburger Phone
The Truman Show: Lauren/Sylvia calls into the show.

Doesn't exactly count but

Swingers- Leaving "a" message.

Office Space - Talking to Milton.

Wall Street/Reservoir Dogs - Nothing special, other than laughing at old cell phones.

Hey, Scottie! Welcome to the board.

Cool idea for a list. I'll have to give it some thought. The only thing that has come to mind isn't a great fit, but I just re-watched High and Low and the phone calls with the kidnapper are awesome, mainly because of how great the scenes are staged around them.

Don't say that you're more sorry than I am, because I'm capable of being just as sorry as you are, Dimitri. So we're both sorry, all right?. All right.

No love for Elizabethtown?  ...good.

Didn't The Departed have a really great phone conversation that I can't get into because it's a major spoiler?

1. Before Sunrise - Jesse and Céline stage fake phone conversations with each other playing friends they pretend to call.
2. Ransom - Mel Gibson antagonizing the kidnappers. ("Give Me Back My Son!")
3. The Graduate - Ben calls Mrs. Robinson to arrange a hotel meeting.
4. The Sweet Hereafter - Ian Holm on the phone with his daughter. ("I don't know who I'm talking to right now.")
5. The Negotiator - lots of great phone calls in this, but I especially love the comedic one where Sam Jackson lets his inexperienced fellow officer try and negotiate with him.
