I know a few of these get mentioned quite a bit, but I'm looking for more of a general breakdown. I'm sure there will also be honorable mentions - I'm partial to Martyrs and Japanese version of Pulse myself - but these 30 seem most likely to get the majority of votes.

I went with these:

28 Days Later
The Devil's Backbone
The Descent
Let the Right One In
Scream (for its influence)

I haven't seen all the movies, but I feel like this is a really strong list given the options.

Of those, I'll say:

Army of Darkness
Bram Stoker's Dracula
From Dusk Til Dawn
Scream
Shaun of the Dead

But I'm wondering why The Others and Drag Me To Hell aren't options.

Nearly the same Shaun for The Devil's Backbone

What's wrong about horror movies older than 20 years? I just arrived home after watching Rosemary's Baby in a real theatre thanks to my film club. And how good it was!!!!

43 years is no age, I tell you. :)

Cause no matter how hard I try, I always forget a couple of key options.

We already have a Top 5 for All Time. I recently rewatched Scream and it made me think about the best of modern horror.

I figured. ;)
I just had to squee a little because I felt so happy about Rosemary's Baby. And as I stumbled upon this thread I couldn't keep quiet.
I'm generally not a big horror movie fan. But tonight I'm in a positive mood about them.

Drag Me To hell is the one I've seen most recently, so it's still in my head.  And we just watched The Innocents a few days ago, which brought The Others back to mind.  Otherwise, that's why I have many big lists.

-From Dusk Till Dawn
-The Mist
-Shaun Of The Dead
-Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street
-Drag Me To Hell

But I completely glanced over Army Of Darkness on the list, and that would have replaced Sweeney Todd. I would've revoted, but I am not allowed to.

Let The Right One In
28 Days Later
Scream
The Others
The Frighteners

I left Shaun of the Dead off because I consider it a great comedy more than a great horror film.
