Yeah I think if I was going to pick a Tsai for Bondo, it would be Wayward Cloud (despite the fact that it's technically a sequel), or maybe The River.  I agree about Claire's Knee too.

I really like the changes in this year's list.  I'm thinking that losing Froham and Bill may have knocked down many of the directors I feel are overrated (although I'd rather have Fro & Bill back).

Hear, hear.

Bondo: I think you should definitely see Clair's Knee.  It is kind of slow, but deals with sexuality in an interesting way.  My Night At Maud's is my favorite, but I think you may find the other more interesting.

True about Wayward Cloud.  I haven't seen that one.

I think you overestimate Fro's propensity to actually participate in these lists.

I won't get to Tsai or Rohmer for a bit so I'll ponder a bit more which to go with. It does seem that Claire's Knee is the clean pick for Rohmer, I've had that one picked out before as well. Because it has a teenage girl at center?

And I guess Wayward Cloud sounds like a good one because it is on Instant and because it fits with the extreme marathon stuff.

Not so happy about Kevin Smith (#11, down from 5 last year on my ballot) dropping out. Rob Reiner who moved up my ballot also dropped out. Greenaway didn't make my ballot but I would have liked him to stay around. Not sure what happened to the support for JP Jeunet who fell out from 66th. Also Edgar Wright. I can't say Breillat going in is compensation for all this. Probably gotta say last year's list was preferable when various other drops are taken into account.

I'm a little baffled about the treatment of small filmographies. Don't see why/how Rian Johnson and Lynne Ramsay make it already and yet Edgar Wright falls off (and Joe Wright can't get in). Both of the Wrights would seem to have strengthened their case in the past year while Johnson and Ramsay (unless you've already seen WNTTAK) haven't added to their filmography.

Special thanks also to Bondo for upgrading us to premium chat which allowed us to post images and such and made the whole thing a lot more festive!

Interesting.  That means there were people who submitted a list that did not include Hitchcock.  More people than submitted a list that did not include Kubrick.

Yep, 3 more. Hitch had more #1 votes but Kubrick had a lot of votes in the Top 20.

I had Hitch at 2 and Kubrick at 5. They're both real good.
