After three months, I'm almost caught up with The New Yorker. Just started the Christmas issue.
This is why I cancelled my subscription... twice. It's great that a magazine could be so good that you want to read the whole thing (well, 70% of it), but I could just never make the time for it. They'd always start piling up and it would feel more like a job than a pleasure. Since I let my Gamestop membership lapse, I don't have any magazine subscriptions. It's just as well, I have a hard enough time keeping up with podcasts.
As for me, I'm still reading Connie Willis' Blackout
, but making pretty good time with it. It's engaging but also really frustrating, with the same kind of "main characters running to stay in place" issues that plagued Passages
. Yes, I get it, they'll all trapped and no one's coming to rescue them... let's move on
