I will be reading that for class (for a second time, I think) this upcoming semester. Just put the order in yesterday.

Nobody brings the mirth like Edith Wharton!   ;)
Kevin: Yes, why does there have to be evil?

Supreme Being: I think it has something to do with free will.

Verna: I suppose you think you raised hell.

Tom: Sister, when I've raised hell you'll know it.

After three months, I'm almost caught up with The New Yorker.  Just started the Christmas issue.

After three months, I'm almost caught up with The New Yorker.  Just started the Christmas issue.

This is why I cancelled my subscription... twice.  It's great that a magazine could be so good that you want to read the whole thing (well, 70% of it), but I could just never make the time for it.  They'd always start piling up and it would feel more like a job than a pleasure.  Since I let my Gamestop membership lapse, I don't have any magazine subscriptions.  It's just as well, I have a hard enough time keeping up with podcasts.

As for me, I'm still reading Connie Willis' Blackout, but making pretty good time with it.  It's engaging but also really frustrating, with the same kind of "main characters running to stay in place" issues that plagued Passages.  Yes, I get it, they'll all trapped and no one's coming to rescue them... let's move on already.

I enjoy the binges, but my big problem was that I let myself fall so far behind (7 months, I think).

I'm going to try a new system where i attempt to read the new issue the same day it arrives and read other things the rest of the week.

Tom Wolfe writes like he's selling a miracle elixir. I've never read a book that used this many exclamation points.
