I'm not so familiar with covers, really, but Jimi Hedrix' cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower" and Jeff Buckley's cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" will always come to mind as greats, albeit the usual suspects as far as cover talk is concerned.

Is Nick Cave's Into My Arms a weird choice for a wedding song?  We can't seem to think of one except this one, it has a special meaning to us, but I wasn't sure if it was appropriate or not.  Any thoughts?

It's really lovely. Not offensive, unless you are having a super religious shindig.

As a walk down the aisle song or a first dance song?

My only note with it as an aisle song is that there's over a minute from the start of the song to the first chorus, so you'll want to time the walk so that chorus gets heard, otherwise, it's mainly a list of things you don't believe in, which might be weird.

It would be for a first dance song.  The wedding isn't super religious, but that's why that song is kind of "our song".  My fiance said that song always reminded him of us.  He's not religious at all, and I'm not super religious, but I definitely have more belief than him.

I'm walking down the aisle to a violinist playing Gabriel's Oboe from The Mission.

That song was used quite nicely in About Time.

What a great piece for your walk down the aisle!  I want to recommend that to everyone I marry now!

Thank you all!  I love the music from The Mission, one of my favorites.
