I still have some of those top contenders to watch.

I hope more people watch A Face in the Crowd-- it is like an early Network, with Andy Griffith as a dark Howard Beale, kinda.
I'd like to see it because it does have the tone of Network about it. Like a lot of these films, I'm having trouble tracking it down.

I've stopped myself from saying which of these marquee films I don't care for much, since we are only going to nominate the ones we do like. There's no vote against (which I can see adding some spice to Filmspots, in general, if it was initiated) but that won't stop people being negative.
I used to encourage everyone I knew to make art; I don't do that so much anymore. - Banksy

I didn't plan on watching Payton Place or Sayonara , but they both made a huge dent at the 1957 Academy Awards (4 Oscars for Sayonara and 15 additional nominations between them). Are either of these likely to pop up on the Retro Filmspots ballot?

They're both on my watchlist, but I'm not particularly looking forward to them. At least they didn't get Jennifer Jones to play Asian again.

Sayonara is coming up on TCM and I'm going to watch it again.  I saw it many, many years ago and didn't really care for it, so I'm not expecting much.

The first half of Peyton Place is wonderful. The second half isn't bad either. Lana Turner!

I added that title to the list on account of your review ... just forgot to put your name next to it. Fixed now.

59 of 202. That's 29.2%.

16 different people have been the first to see a film so far. I hope that number continues to grow as well.
