I am certainly planning on watching Bridge for the first time quite soon.

I plan on watching Bridge on the River Kwai and Sweet Smell of Success before the deadline (both first times) - time is scarce, so I hope I'll manage.

I just realized how sad I am that nobody watched Johnny Tremain. Also, I should update the first post. Nominations might be closed, but I still like this project (and I have a ton of non-nominated films from the year queued up to watch still).

:( Sorry.

I'll watch Johnny Tremain if you watch Gun for a Coward!

I will watch Gun for a Coward with no strings attached. (I wouldn't feel right being directly responsible for someone else's watching JT, even though it's probably charmingly bad at worst.)

Your nagging sense of responsibility won't stop me! Disney knows how to bring it sometimes. I'll take my chances :)

Johnny Tremain update...

I fast forwarded to the end after 30 minutes just to see if it was going anywhere interesting. It was. Did I want to sit through another 30 minutes to get there? Not really.

The scope of the story is huge, and the tone is all "this is a big moment in history", but I just wasn't transported by any of it. The music didn't get me there, Johnny Tremain certainly didn't get me there, and the battles were limper than last weeks lettuce.

I wish more of it had the coolness of this one frame:
