I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

If the topic is top 5 movie phone calls, as opposed to just phone conversations, I would have to go with the following:

5. 'Happiness' - Philip Seymour Hoffman's attempt at an obsene call is a personal favorite of mine for sheer discomfort.

4. 'Mean Girls' - The four-way phone call/split screen has never been used better.

3. 'Scream' - The opening scene?  Not on anybody's list?  Really?

2. 'Memento' [honorable mention] - The black and white sequence/interlude is one of the best uses of a phone call as a narrative device.

1. And then there is the use of a phone call as creating surreal menace - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZowK0NAvig&feature=related

A great top 5 idea.  I love that this show can still come up with great topics after all these years.

A nice scary phone call that isn't an obvious pick is The Mothman Prophecies

Which is funny since next week we're regurgitating one from 2006. :)

Make sure you listen through the end of the episode for an outtake which I've called "a desperate plea for attention."
