White Nights
2nd. In a year of great cinematography, this only ranks behind The Cranes Are Flying.

2/5 once more, but this was a tight category and the other nominees are good. Kind of surprised not to see Paths of Glory here.

Really tough category. Hoped for White Nights. Surprised to not see Nights of Cabiria or Funny Face here.

3 of 5 for me. The
Funny Face
snub is mildly shocking, the
Jet Pilot
one not at all.

How does
Sweet Smell of Success
compare to the other four? I haven't revisited it yet, but based on memory (and seemingly confirmed by the screenshots I've been looking at) it seems out of its league here.
