The Bridge on the River Kwai – William Holden

I've never liked Holden in Kwai. Sessue Hayakawa, on the other hand...

I would say Tony Curtis is Lead and Burt Lancaster is supporting.

Agreed!

Lead (where Henry Fonda doesn't need my support)...

A Face in the Crowd - Andy Griffith
Witness for the Prosecution - Charles Laughton

Supporting:
Which Angry Men? I say...

12 Angry Men - Ed Begley
12 Angry Men - Lee J. Cobb
12 Angry Men - E.G. Marshall
The Wings of Eagles - Ward Bond

I would nominate both for supporting actor. Guinness is the lead.

& Kwai may the weakest of Holden's big roles but it's still Bill Holden.

The film really suffers for me when he's outside the camp, and I blame him for that as much as the script. Well, pending a highly anticipated rewatch, anyway.
