Mindie Throwdown 2k12: Of MotyRae JepsFun. Edition
« on: May 16, 2012, 02:44:23 PM »
I know the year isn't halfway done yet, but that's why this is only the first edition. It's hard to deny that 2k12 has been a huge year for mindie bands the world over. Now I know you may be thinking that CRJ isn't really mindie since she's not even a band, but I like to think of her as a little bit of mindie pop because it makes the title that much more enjoyable to say. It's also hard to deny that she has been tearing up the radio speakers, so really should she be excluded just because she doesn't fit in to the old boys club/is Canadian/has garnered too much Gomez and Bieber love?

But when you put them all up against one another, who is/are the true King/Queen of 2k12's mindie? You decide!

1. Of Monsters and Men - "Little Talks"
2. Gotye - "Somebody That I Used To Know"
3. Carly Rae Jepsen - "Call Me Maybe"
4. Fun. - "We Are Young"

Interesting. Is that when it really started blowing up?

Perhaps it's 2k12's "Super Bass"?

The 'Pedia is telling me "We Are Young" didn't go Billboard Number 1 until March, so I'm still going to count it.

All of these songs are awful, except the the maybe one.

Yes.
