I take for granted that we're allowed to bring back directors who previously have been kicked out by someone else. That's the rule in the case of the actors/actresses relay race.

Danny Boyle

Exactly who I would have booted.

Haven't seen much Wiseman (and none of his recent work) but I like what I've seen so far.

Thanks. I was wondering about that.

I like your pick of PeacefulAnarchy more than Wiseman, though both are inspired. PA is tops for Filmspotters on iCheckMovies, so I'm curious what his move will be. I see this list staying for a while with the Spotters who are best at looking outside the typical Top 15. Of course, once those are done the remaining members will reinstate the original picks and we'll probably end up right where we started.

Depends who finishes. I think that's the biggest determiner of whether or not Nolan sticks around.

Kathryn Bigelow, Catherine Breillat, Sofia Coppola, Claire Denis, Kelly Reichardt, and Lynne Ramsay were all in the running.
Not Varda?

She isn't a working director.
?? Beaches of Agnes came out in 2008, also, there's this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2125012/  (Do you have some inside info about her that I don't know about? She retired?)

I'm sure oldkid just means that she makes it look so effortless that it's as if she's not working. ;)

Sorry (mainly to Bondo) but the list is better off without Boyle. Great pick with Wiseman. There's still 3 more directors I'd be taking off though, and only 3 who's inclusion I'd argue is incontestable.

Seems like an interesting exercise. Got a couple of choices for who to remove and who to put. Let me think about it a bit.
