I was happy enough with the participation last time, and I expect it to increase naturally, regardless, without our needing to placate to imagined preferences of earlier non-participants. Besides, going with 1999 could just as easily lead to a drop in participation from people who've had their fill of that year from the 1990s US and Far East brackets. For example.

I think I'd love how awkward it'd be, or how awkward it should be.

I voted 1974 and 2004. I'll be participating regardless of which is selected, but I prefer to do a non-bracket year.

There are plenty of movies I didn't watch from the various brackets, and I assume it's the same for most others.

I've cut the field of years in half. Please update your vote(s).

One of these films needs to get over 50% today.

I still prefer '94 to '99.  New but not as new, you know?

4. Out 1: Spectre (Rivette, 1974)
5. Chinatown (Polanski, 1974)

The Godfather Part II not as dominant as I expected. Strong preliminary challenge from Chinatown and A Woman under the Influence. Didn't realize Out 1: Spectre was from 1974 as well as Celine and Julie Go Boating. Jacques was a busy little boy in 1974. Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia is great discussion fodder. That'd be fun. Curious to read reviews of The Phantom of Liberty and Blood for Dracula, too.
