I started wondering if maybe we could/should use the Ratings Project to determine the Retro Filmspot nominees for Best Picture, Best Non-English Language Film, and Best Director. Any thoughts on that?

Maybe for Best Picture and Best Non-English Language Film (and Best Documentary?); but I don't know about using it for Best Director. It's tough enough ranking directorial efforts without assigning a numerical value.

Oops ... that was a typo! I meant Documentary, not Director.

What are you thinking now? This board's been inactive for a couple of weeks.

Yeah, I've personally been distracted by the brackets and the ratings project. But now that those are running pretty smoothly, let's set some dates:

Nominations ballot due: Sunday, November 11
Final ballots due: Sunday, December 9

Hope that's more or less acceptable to everyone. Apologies for not being better organized this round.

Is there a ballot somewhere? Is this deadline still happening?

I should be posting a ballot today or tomorrow, and the deadline will be extended just a couple days. Still trying to get all the FYC threads up-to-date.

I'm not sure how many nominations ballots I've received so far, but it's probably just around ten. Hopefully that number doubles in the next twelve hours.

When on Wed morning EST is the cutoff for ballot submission?

(I blame the Ratings Project for taking up my time.)  ;D

Maybe you could PM people who sent in ballots last time. I had completely put this out of my mind with all the delays and only noticed the ballot was finally out because I happened to be curious yesterday.

The ballots are counted. Now I just have to go through and make sure I attributed all the acting votes to the right Mel Brooks film.
