FYC 1974: Best Picture, Director, and Screenplay
« on: July 24, 2012, 04:36:27 PM »
Please post the films/directors/screenplays you are considering (and you would like your fellow filmspotter to consider) for the 1974 Retro-Filmspots here and check this list before nominating. Please post the picture you are FYCing along with [AS] or [OS] and director if known.

Any relevant questions whose answers may benefit everyone will also be added to this post... with said answers, obvi... such as:

Are we going by imdb years?

For the most part, I guess. But I personally really want to correct any notable oddities we discover (like the one you mentioned with The General; or, like, the classic example of Ivan the Terrible, Part II). Especially with IMDb occassionally changing the years on us.

Seemabaddha (Satyajit Ray) [OS]

IMDb lists a source novel for this one, so I'm moving it to Adapted Screenplay. I'm also filing it under the UK DVD title Company Limited.

Lancelot du lac (Robert Bresson) [AS]

IMDb doesn't list any source for this, so I'm moving it to Original Screenplay.
