I watched the first episode of Big Mouth and it was really terrible.

I didn't make it to the end of the first episode.  So very unfunny.

A call for help:

I am out of Suits to watch and Billions doesn't come back until next year. I search the interwebs for similar shows and people seemed to say White Collar was a good alternative. I watched the first episode and I feel it is not going to be. It has nowhere near the same cool factor as those two shows and it is not half as clever. I also get the feeling it is an episodic one and done show, which I loather.

Anyone have a recommendation to save my life?

Some suggestions that touch upon white collar drama:

Fargo, Series 3 (FX)
The Duece (HBO)
Better Call Saul (AMC)
Big Little Lies (HBO)
House of Cards (Netflix)

I too really like Billions, so hopefully you’ll find something to draw from with those shows.

DH, have you watched Halt and Catch Fire?  Might be what you're after...

I already watch House of Cards and BCS, although I would place them nowhere near the two series i mentioned genre-wise.

Nothing about the two first seasons of Fargo makes me think S3 could scratch that Suits itch. The Deuce is just too different to fit, regardless of whether I would like it. Don't know anything about BLL.

Intriguing notion. Is there good banter in it? Larger than life executives with weird sex kinks?

DH has wondered this too. I probably would like the law stuff and get bored by the personal lives stuff. I never actually tried, there's so many episodes...What do you think?

Yes and yes.

What Steve Wozniak said when asked Halt and Catch Fire (and also Silicon Valley):In response to a reporter’s question about “Halt and Catch Fire,” AMC’s period drama about the Silicon Prairie of Texas in 1983, Wozniak reacted even more positively:

“‘Halt and Catch Fire,’ too. Wow, I love the portrayal, but it’s more like a lot of the drama.”

There's surprisingly little "personal lives stuff" in the show, really. The title is a bit misleading in that regard. It's a law firm show with a strong emphasis on technology (Bitcoin, darkweb, NSA, I forget what else). Oddly, it's a show nobody seems to expect to like but most get hooked on when they give it a chance. I don't remember how strong the pilot is. I didn't start watching until season two, I think, and even then it was just random episodes.  But eventually I made sure to watch it all. The fact that there's a full seven seasons would seem like a positive thing, given your current crisis.

I can second The Good Wife. It's always entertaining and very well-acted with some great "drop-in" performances from actors you don't see that much on TV anymore.

The pilot is a bit misleading. The content changed quite a bit after that pilot episode. It should have been called The Independent Woman Who Loves Her Wine.

Well, I have always been a great advocate of women who love wine.
