I'm through two already, that first episode is in the top tier. The second is more second tier of interesting more than effective.

DarkeningHumour should go right to Episode 4: Hang the DJ, which has a strong San Junipero vibe.

I will never be able to watch the original series of Star Trek again without the overlay of creepy that Black Mirror imposes upon it.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

My wife and I watched the season in two nights. This show is a gem. Just absolutely delightful and incredibly funny. Rachel Brosnahan gives my favorite performance of the year - TV or otherwise. She is so dialed into this character. I liked her in Manhattan, but she's a revelation here. She has enough energy to power the Easter Seaboard. Mad TV alum, Alex Borstein is fantastic as well. There's a great supporting cast, the production values are incredible, and the writing is just *kissing finger emoji*.

Favorite TV Series of 2017

01. Twin Peaks: The Return
02. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel s1
03. Broad City s4
04. The Deuce s1
05. Insecure s2
06. Legion s1
07. American Vandal s1
08. GLOW s1
09. The Keepers
10. SMILF s1
11. Stranger Things s2
12. Catastrophe s3
13. Girls s6

Slight disappointments

Game of Thrones - the compact season rushed past important story points and character development
Fargo - big step down from season 2. McGregor was miscast.
The Crown - Claire Foy is excellent, but I just don't dig the Queen. Episodes ending with "The More You Know" tags were weird.

Big Disappointments

You're the Worst s4 - one of my favorite sitcoms became unwatchable. Didn't finish the last two episodes.

Worst Thing I Saw

The David S. Pumpkins Animated Halloween Special

Godless

Boy, did I hate this. It's a total bait and switch. They promoted it as a show about a town full of women, but the female cast probably only gets 20% of the screen time. Michelle Dockery is forced to spend most of her time looking doe-eyed at Jack O'Connell. There is literally 20-odd minutes spent on horse breaking. Dozens of pointless flashbacks. It's a two-hour film stretched across seven. I came for a show about badass women and was treated to some of the most patronizing patriarchal nonsense I've seen in quite some time.

Merritt Wever is the only good thing about this.

Thanks for saving me the time. The genre, cast and trailer had me very interested.

Yup, a hunk of junk. Unfortunate, because it really is a good premise.

We did watch one episode of this and then opted out.

I'd revisit Deadwood again and agiain instead of going here.
