I watched 16. The Audrey moment felt like fan service, like having Kermit sing "Rainbow Connection". The end of the scene is something, but too brief to register as anything more than a new mystery. Still doesn't justify the previous horrible scenes.

Twin Peaks episode 16 spoilers:

The prevailing theory in our house is that Bad Cooper raped Audrey (which would explain why Richard is so evil), and she's in some kind of demented state or maybe something like what happened to Diane. There is no "Charlie" at all, he only exists in her mind.

I liked the Audrey moment, didn't strike me as any more fanservice-y than any other stuff they've done.

GOODBYE DOUGIE! Dougie had his moments but mostly he was a drag and boy it's good to see Maclachlan in full Agent Cooper mode.

This show is on a roll. Now it's at the place where it should have been all along. If I had the time and patience to do a fan edit, here's what I'd cut out:

* that Michael Cera scene... a throwaway gag that did nothing for me
* probably about 70% of the Dougie stuff
* everything with Nadine and Jacobi (maybe not the scene where she gives Ed his freedom, but then again who really cares about Ed either?)
* everything with Jerry Horne (unless there's a good payoff to him witnessing Richard's death)
* any cutesy scene with Andy & Lucy
* maybe Harry Dean Stanton entirely? I'm not a huge HDS fan and I don't really see the point of his character yet
* all these scenes with characters we never see again (mostly girls) at Roadhouse... they're interesting little sketches but in context they just seem like red herrings or distractions

That's all I can think of for now. It sounds like a lot but maybe it really isn't that much except for all the damn Dougie.

I never thought I could like Jim Belushi this much.

I'm waiting for someone to write about those dialogue scenes at the roadhouse at the end of each episode. Seems like they add up to something but each time it's like a leftover scene from another show.

I'll also admit I forgot all about Cooper talking to Diane in the series until Laura Dern's story.

Original Series or The Return?

And I'd love to get an update from Martin.

Reddit has been good at piecing together the plots from the road house and how some of the characters mentioned are also mentioned by Audrey, but they've looked at it on an episode-by-episode basis. I am also waiting to see what articles well be written about different aspects of this iteration of the show.

I need to get back on this show and I plan on writing about it when I do. Watched the first two episodes.
