I'd never heard of it until your comment intrigued me to look it up.

Making my way through GALLIPOLI, the first few episodes are incredible, highly recommended for anyone who enjoyed PACIFIC, it is not quite BAND OF BROTHERS level, but really close to PACIFIC-type show.

Is Gallipoli by the same people? I heard they were doing a 3rd series.

I do not believe so, it appears the production is uniquely Aussie, but I am unsure.

Finished Season 2 of The Good Place, which gets back to the core characters, though I'm kind of done with Jason Mendoza and the whole "stupidest person alive" character in television comedies. (Seinfeld had it right with Kramer being possibly ahead of his time instead of an insufferable idiot.) What keeps the show going is the creativity, like the Bad Place Museum and The Judge, expertly written and well-played by Maya Rudolph.

Rudolph is brilliant. I love what they do with season 2, following up a big shift with a bunch of others at a place rarely seen on TV. It's as impressive as it is funny. I think I might like season 3 even more, particularly the back half, but season 2 still holds a special place in my heart with the development of the romances and friendship that is made possible by the show's felicity with its structure and form.

American Horror Story Season 2 - Asylum
★ ★ ★ - Okay
This show is great for binge watching because it packs so much into a breathlessly-paced Season. This one has an exorcism scene in Episode 1. What would be a climax for many is just a set-up for one of the more exciting long-term stories. This is supported by the expansive cast, which is packed with way more star power than I expected. It initially surprised me to learn Jessica Lange was doing a television series, but the cast is all at that level, from James Cromwell to Chloë Sevigny. Most impressive is Zachary Quinto, a carry-over from Season 1. His movie career may only be Star Trek, but he's full of tricks. The series is possibly over-stuffed with too many ideas, but how rare to watch 13 X 40-minutes and not think this is taking too long.

That's the best season I think. I've got a soft spot for Roanoke also, it does some pretty fun formal things, but Asylum is the show operating on all cylinders.

I didn't realize the cast was that stacked. I need to watch this now.
