Pixar made some the best animated films of all time. Period. It shouldn't be a mark against their success that their films appeal to a wide group of people, just as the high level of artistry and technical breakthroughs shouldn't be ignored.

Agreed. I'm thrilled that Toy Story is so high on the list, not because I don't dislike Pixar, but because it's one of my top ten films of all time. I don't love all of their films (and I'm just as thrilled to not see a Cars movie here), but they've made some of the best animation I've ever seen.

Agreed. I'm thrilled that Toy Story is so high on the list, not because I don't dislike Pixar, but because it's one of my top ten films of all time. I don't love all of their films (and I'm just as thrilled to not see a Cars movie here), but they've made some of the best animation I've ever seen.

My agreement with the comment was not that they have not made some great animation, more that their films are not as divisive as some other great animation. Their multi-level appeal and the number of people who have seen them ensure a higher ranking. I do not think all their films are great, but that is different.

I would just like to say that I just finished watching Le Roman de Renard and it would have made my top 10 for sure. Starewicz was a genius.

Finally getting to this.

Congrats, Spirited Away!  Again!  ;D

As usual, Filmspotting has given me a list of films to watch. 

Ones I haven't seen yet on the list:
