Shocktober Group Marathon 2012
« on: September 24, 2012, 03:34:45 PM »

The time approaches to put away your toys and crawl under the covers (as if that will do any good.)
As with last year this is a group marathon, so whoever else decides to watch some horror films in Oct. post their findings here.
Thanks to Final Girl for the Shocktober logo.

Shocktober! My favorite time of year. No idea what I'll watch, but I'll write something about everything.
Check out my blog of many topics

October 27th-28th, I am going to this: http://www.exhumedfilms.com/24hrfest666.htm

I have no idea what they are showing (it's a secret), but it is guaranteed to be a lot of cheese.  Probably get 14 or so movies in the 24 hours.

Outside of that, I am going to try to fill in my personal blindspots, which include some Hammer titles, some of the Universal monster sequels, and a lot of 50s b-movies.  And every year I try to watch The Evil Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Trick 'r Treat, and Troll 2.

I won't go whole-hog like I do for Noir-vember, but I might as well try to tackle all the horror currently on my Watchlist:

Silent Hill: Revelation
Noriko's Dinner Table
Cold Fish
Guilty of Romance (a.k.a. Crime of Romance)
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931)
Fascination
The Quatermass Xperiment
Cat-Women of the Moon
Hanyo (The Housemaid)
Next of Kin
Swamp Women
Uncle Silas
The Ghost of Yotsuya
Outrage
Nucingen House
City of Pirates
Histeria
Sini ada hantu

I know at least one of these (Outrage) is not strictly horror, and I'm sure a couple others aren't either.  I also have little hope of seeing the last two.

Revised the initial post knowing that the titles are very likely to change.

I'm very excited to see Stake Land listed. It deserves to be the discovery of Halloween.
Of the ones I haven't seen, I'm looking forward to MartinTeller's review of Noriko's Dinner Table.

The possible lineup for Mr. & Mrs. 1SOs Not-So-Scary Halloween
The Invisible Man
Jaws
Psycho
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

For modern horror, I'm most likely to check out this year's remake of The Woman in Black and Lucky McKee's The Woman.

Since I only have Instant available my list is limited, but full enough in my estimation:

An American Werewolf in London (1981)
The Omen (1976)
Nosferatu (1929)
Friday the 13th (1980)
The Mummy (1932)

Also one of my local theaters features an annual Hitchcocktober (this will be my second) (not all of them fit here, but to see them on the big screen, oh my!):

North by Northwest
Vertigo
The Birds
Rear Window
Psycho
"Time is the speed at which the past decays."

I wish that television stations showed more horror films. I could download a bunch of things, I reckon, but otherwise I'm mostly limited to Netflix Instant Watch.
