Antares did a good job inserting Bardem, otherwise this thread should have been titled greatest living american actor race  :o

Daniel Day-Lewis, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Tilda Swinton and Anthony Hopkins aren't American.

Edit:  Sorry, that probably comes off as snotty.  I just posted that because I was like "hmm, yeah, they are all American, oh wait, they aren't" kind of thing.  Just an observation, nothing snarky.

While I was typing I thought someone could come up with this, for a second I had even considered to write Anglo-American, but does it really make a difference? Day-Lewis, Blanchett, Winslet, Swinton and Hopkins, where have they gathered their notoriety if not in American films? Bardem works a lot in the US lately, that's why he is in the race, this is the kind of list I expect to see on an ordinary American forum, not here at filmspotting, this forum can do better than this  ;)
By the way, usually when I have to choose a film to see I ignore who the actors are, I go for the director, there is only one actor/actress I watch everything she does and she is not American, but then, that's me.

Unless Martin beats me to it, I'm pretty certain I'm going to swap in a person who's native language isn't English. :)

I bet I know who you're thinking of, and that would  be great.

You know me!
A thought struck me: maybe this person has retired since it's been a while since I saw him/her doing something. I checked it and it turned out that there's another movie incoming just about now. So still around, which is great.

I'm only going to add an American male who stars in blockbuster movies about explosions.

I'd insert the usual disclaimer of performances in foreign languages being tough to measure.
