pixote, thank you for all your hard work with these projects. I've enjoyed them both quite a bit and worry that the Retro Filmspots may not last long due to a lack of participation. (I wish I could suggest some ideas that would make more people want to join.) Perhaps it's as Martin said, in the end the cream was too creamy.
My high percentage of picking winners feels unearned since I watched about half of what I did for 1957. That might have given me the advantage since I wasn't making discoveries, but reinforcing what I already believed. Know that I'm keeping a hole in my schedule for whatever year we decide to tackle next.
I agree that the true benefit to 1974 was discovering Un homme qui dort. (I believe it was Martin who watched it for the Retrospots first.) Winner of 3 awards. Not bad for a film that's difficult to find.
