One of our esteemed members has created a chat (which is in its Beta phase) for the members.  He or she is looking for input on the idea.  I love the idea.

I was thinking it might be fun to arrange a specific time and date for a chat in order to get as many people in the room as possible.  My initial idea was to do it around the Christmas holiday or New Year's Holiday - a time when most working people will be out of work and lounging around the house anyway.  Also, if we do it on a day off we can be flexible on the time ie. during hours of the day when a lot of people are usually at work, more international members might be able to join in.

Please let me know your thoughts, concerns, quibbles by posting.

-EDIT- Lynch set up the chat.  It's at http://chat.crackspotting.com/ .  Have fun, kiddies.

I'd like to put forth a motion, or an idea.

What if, after deciding on a date to gather, we then choose a film of some sort to all watch ahead of time.  Then we could freely discuss the film in the new chatroom.

If this is too regimented, don't be afraid to say so.

The film could be a new release, but keep in mind, the international members may not have the same films in the cinema as in America.

Or, the film could coincide with Sam and Adam's Marathon.

Either way, this could be fun.

I used to do that all the time with episodes of Firefly and people from Fireflyfans.net- this is always fun. Great idea. Btw, the chat is very cool. Thanks!

We could always watch studio 60.  Just kidding, I'm sure it on Christmas break too.

I love the idea - count me in. I still haven't gotten the internets at my new place but I can steal some of the parents bandwidth.
