Hello.

When is the deadline?

What films should I watch?

EDIT: I have watched these films so far.

Would Bastards be eligible next year?

Was going to nominate it in a bunch of categories, but since only a couple of people here have seen it, I think, might be better to nominate it next year - if I may.

It seems to have only played in NY in 2013, so yeah, should be eligible next year.

Okay, 2014 eligibility question. Are music videos eligible? Depending on how radical and non-strategic I want to be as a voter, I'm prepared to nominate the Chandelier video for Best Picture and Best Cinematography and nominate Maddie Ziegler for Best Actress. It is a crazy good music video.

I'm not sure the eligibility guidelines really speak to music videos since theatrical and DVD releases are the limiting factors and they don't apply, with that said I don't see why a music video should be ineligible. Maybe we need a new guideline about YouTube debut (that's how people access music videos now, right?). Of course, without a short film category, you're going to have a tough time getting it nominated, but still, you should be able to do so if it's your want.

Eligibility question for Debut Features:
If a film is a collaborative effort of two directors, but the directing debut for only one of them, is the film still eligible in the Debut Features category?

No. But a great question for the FAQ. Is there a particular example you were thinking of?

Yes:

Grzeli nateli dgeebi  (AKA In Bloom, Nana Ekvtimishvili, Simon Groß)  Georgia

Not sure if In Bloom is eligible. It's Nana Ekvtimishvili's first feature film, but the second one for Simon Groß.

I vaguely remember something about being released in the US also affecting eligibility (Groß' first feature wasn't, AFAIK), but it might have been related to another category.

Debut Feature = US Theatrical Debut, so In Bloom might qualify after all.
