I'm somewhat underwhelmed after two episodes. There's nothing really wrong with it, but what the critical excitement is about escapes me so far. And Campion's hand in it seems barely recognizable to me. Maybe I should have waited until the whole thing is available.

I agree it doesn't feel fully Campion's, but I'm hoping we'll recognize her more as the series goes on.

Most of the critics I've listened to or read re: Top of the Lake have seen the entire series.

Might start checking this out today when I get home from the movies. Or I might watch Primer, but I won't be seeing UC for a while, so I could start with this rather than work more on Americans or HoC. This is the drama (mini-?)series I'm most excited about seeing by a pretty wide margin, so looking forward to hoping in here when I do get a chance to start on it.

Last two epis premiere tonight.  The creepy, disturbing vibe has intensified with each subsequent episode.
