No idea on most of these. Lot of them sound like really generic '90s movie scores to me.  :-\

Only guessed on three.  #6 and #9 are killing me.  I know I know them.

Beleive me, there's a very narrow range of useable scores for this game :), especially for the big, traditional, american 90's pieces. On one end of the spectrum are all the completely tuneless scores (70% or more), on the other end are all the instantly recognizable pieces like the Imperial March (about 20%). #5 and #9 represent the 10% left over. They carry a distinguishable tune, but they've not been overplayed to the point of universal saturation. Oh and it has to be a film everyone has had a pretty darn good chance of seeing once.

And even the most distinctive film scores out there are pretty generic outside of their opening themes. Take this track from Jurassic Park for example. Everyone remembers the main song in the film, but this part could be from anything. It's just a utility piece.

It's an easy game to make way too hard, and way too easy. And hard to make merely difficult. :))

Only guessed on three.  #6 and #9 are killing me.  I know I know them.

#6 could be a real headsmacker for sure. :)

Yea, I'm sure. A handful sound familiar, I imagine I've seen them, but I couldn't put a name to them. You sure did a good job of making this challenging.

I guessed on most, and knew 2, 3 and 8 for sure.

I'm too embarrassed to even make guesses, but I can't wait for the answers.

I'll probably give it one more day. :)

I guessed on most, and knew 2, 3 and 8 for sure.

Knowing 3 for sure... you did well. :)

I'm too embarrassed to even make guesses, but I can't wait for the answers.
I may give a breakdown for each clip looking at the answers people gave, because even where they're wrong there's a lot of overlap that's interesting. Your wild guesses will only add to the interest. :)

Results!

Clip 1

Ah, so this one yielded a result I hadn't predicted, but in hindsight seems obvious! Every guess that wasn't the right answer was a French-themed film:

Moulin Rouge
Amelie
Midnight in Paris
Hugo
Ronin
Ratatouille

These are great guesses! Thing is, when I was selecting the clip it didn't occur to me how French sounding it was! I was preoccupied with the film itself and trying to consider how many people had seen it and might recognize the music. So in the ultimate irony (and inadvertent deception on my part), the film is as English as it gets!

Congrats to worm for somehow pulling out the lone correct answer!

Soundtrack by Patrick Doyle and Ivor Novello

More answers to follow.
