Shamefully, I haven't seen 4 1/2 of those films. As to the ones I have seen: I can't make up my mind wether to vote Aguirre or Vertigo.

2001: A Space Odyssey

Raging Bull

The rest fall somewhere in the range of good to great, but I really need to refresh on most before I could confidently rate them.

If I could just pick one... Apocalypse Now.

I always loved his reviews of movies he hated as well. Even one of his more recent reviews where he awarded Movie 43 0/4 stars had some good zingers. I hope his site remains up and continues to have reviews from guests as has been going on the past couple of weeks.

The lack of love for La Dolce Vita in this forum never ceases to astound me.

It exists but it is indescribable. One of my best movie-going experiences was taking my mum to a cinema screening of La Dolce Vita an hour from home a good ten years ago. 'Christopher, thank you for telling me there was no plot in this film,' she professed. The truth was that she loved it and had never seen anything like it.

You'll see it appear in my Top 10 when I finally compile it.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.
