We need Massacre Theatre intro clip suggestions
« on: April 13, 2013, 05:13:16 PM »
Many moons ago we asked for your suggestions for clips to use with the opening of Massacre Theatre here.

If any of you have a fresh idea, we'd love your suggestions.  Thanks!

It's a Tom Stoppard film (1990) based on his play, but there's here's a good one:

“There we were - demented children mincing about in clothes that no one ever wore, speaking as no man ever spoke, swearing love in wigs and rhymed couplets, killing each other with wooden swords, hollow protestations of faith hurled after empty promises of vengeance - and every gesture, every pose, vanishing into the thin unpopulated air. We ransomed our dignity to the clouds, and the uncomprehending birds listened. Don't you see?! We're actors - we're the opposite of people!”
― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
Ethics is about how we inhabit uncertainty, together.
--Brian Massumi

The purpose of art is to lay bare the questions which have been hidden by the answers.
--James Baldwin

The Man Who Knew Too Little (I haven't see the movie, so can't give you a location.)

You're acting. - I'm not acting. Are you? - Well, I guess we're both actors. In the Theatre of life, I mean.

From Topsy-Turvy:

Gilbert: You have my sympathies, Lely. But unfortunately your avocation as an actor compels you on occasion to endure the most ignominious indignities, as Grossmith will doubtless testify.

George Grossmith: Without question, sir.
