Too bad we already spent our upgrade funds on that "ignore" button.

MUBI is the only one of these I use. I don't know if it's any better or worse.

I don't use any of them.... I haven't seen the need yet. I keep track of most movies I watch blogging about them. Some of them slip through, but the majority will be written about.

The idea to be one out of millions of users in one space scares me a bit. It seems so... I don't know... anonymous. You're like one of the robots in Borg sort of. My blog is my own planet. If you get what I mean.

But then I must admit that I haven't explored any of the available services thoroughly. It's all just assumptions and prejudices.

For the most part, Lobby, I use the services as extensions of the community here.  The contacts I have on those services are mostly the contacts I have here, and I use these services as a way to organize or supplement my movie watching for the sake of this community.  But if you don't need them, or don't find the idea enjoyable, don't bother.  Depending on how you want to use them, it could be some work.

ICM the the one that best encourages me to make a list of films.  It could be that I was just determined to do it at the time I joined, but it's a good listmaker, and my primary source for keeping track of what I've watched.

This probably answers best what I love about ICM. The lists are what steer me towards films I'd never even heard of. The other sites don't have anything close to ICM for helping me organize a List of Shame.

p.s. Letterboxd seems to be having some growing pains this morning.

I wish more filmspotters used Mubi.  :'(

I like being forced to rate a movie on a 1-5 scale. Criticker's 1-100 scale is stupid to me. What, really, is the difference between a 55 rated movie and 56 rated movie?  ::)

1 point.

Besides, you aren't forced use a 100 point scale at Criticker.  If you like to use 1 to 5, you can use 1 to 5.  The system adjusts to whatever scale you use.

Often a 1-100 scale is just too difficult for me.  I have a distinct idea of what I'm considering when I do a 1-5 (or really, 1-10, since I freely use 1/2 points) scale.  I try to translate that into tens in Criticker, but I see that my list is a complete mess.  When I look at my Netflix ratings, they make as much sense as when I made them.  Some people like the freedom of the Criticker system, but it's a bit too much for me.
