The new one, Results, is really good.

The only one I dislike so far is Beeswax.

Clerks is cheap, crude and poorly-acted but it's a hell of a lot more entertaining than this. Less meandering too, hard as that may be to believe. Despite being held in a Hooters style restaurant - actually because of it - this film's great strength is its feminism. This is a film about women struggling with work, with life and also with men, but only a little bit. It's mostly about women holding up each other, which is a great foundation for a movie. Too bad Bujalski is such a lifeless writer and bland director.

That's pretty much how I felt. Disappointing for a film I really wanted to like. This movie is also a showcase for the necessity of good sound design. There is so much dead air surrounding the characters in every scene. It makes it feel very stagey and exacerbates what I found to be a bunch of actors giving very different types of performances.

I mean, it didn't change my life, but I enjoyed my time with it.
