I just remembered that I had a completely random dream the other night that the US won the second game of the group stage to go to 2-0 and were assured of advancing. So weird.

Oh man Pixote that would be so awesome!  But that means they would have to beat Germany, not sure if that's possible even with Klinsmann.

Ghana and Portugal, actually. They play Germany third!

Arsenal's Theo Walcott ruled out of World Cup with knee injury

Arsenal's Theo Walcott will miss the World Cup after being ruled out for at least six months with a knee injury. The England forward, 24, suffered the injury in the 2-0 FA Cup win over Tottenham on Saturday. An Arsenal statement read:  "Theo has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee. "He will have surgery in the near future and is expected to be out for at least six months, thus missing the rest of the season and the World Cup."

Bugger :(. I thought he might have been a starter or at least a tactical sub to be used later in games. I think there's been an advancement in his game this season and a flexibility, he also started playing on/from the left wing, which he hasn't done previously.

Marco Reus out of the World Cup with a ligament tear. The night before they fly over to Brazil. In a friendly vs Armenia. Time to get some ice cream.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: FIFA and the World Cup

How great is this show, last week the section on 'Net Neutrality' equally as good.

Looks about right. Argentina and Germany are both very top-heavy sides so it could go either way for them. Personally, I think Brazil are a pretty dull but very functional team, just like in 2010. Not sure what happens when one of their players goes down though. Spain will have learned from the Confed Cup and might just do it again, they still have far and away the best squad. Also wouldn't be at all surprised to see France in the semis and Italy out early.

Isn't the last time Brazil lost at home in an international competition in the 1970s?

Also, if the US gets more than a point, I think they'll have done quite well.
