Guess it's time to start another book series. Hopefully I like this one more than the last one:

This is so depressing. I think I'll have to mix it up with something more lighthearted.

I read his series The Saga of the Seven Suns a few years ago, so I thought I would give this series ago.

Hate to boil this down to clearing off my bookshelf of those which I've not yet read, but without the next Bond in hand, this took first precedence. Will review Moonraker perhaps tomorrow.

So good. I usually teach it in my American lit course, and it's always a favorite with my students.

I just got John Updike "Rabbit, Run" land in my lap. Any comments?

Just that I was going to read it but I read some other Updike instead first and then lost all motivation because I disliked it. :-\

Probably would've been smarter to start with his most popular (and probably most approachable) book, but sometimes I do things the hard way for no good reason.

I wanted something to listen to, while walking the dogs, so I took advantage of Audible's 3 for 2 offer and got a couple of books.

The one I've just started listening to is Gulliver's Travels read by David Hyde Pierce (aka Niles Crane). I'm about five chapters in, Gulliver has just made himself two stools and with a the aid of a hooked stick he's able to make his way through the courts to the palace...then the dog ran past me with a rabbit in his mouth, so I set of chasing bloody dog to get the rabbit out of his mouth...which kinda took me out of the book and ruined the moment >:(.
