Pix, be sure to lose Jared's ballot! Can't have any of that crap clogging up the works.

Hey, Pixote. Since I've only seen 14 films this year, can I vote in some categories for the film I think deserves it the most? This may not sound completely fair, but I would be reasonable. If not, that's fine. Just let me know.

Yeah, that's totally cool. I'll be doing the same thing myself. You can even leave gaps in your ballot, if there's a nominee you want to give a little love to but know there are probably better nominees out there. So my ballot for Best Surprise might look something like this:

Best Surprise

1.
2. Girl Walk // All Day
3.
4.
5. This Is the End

Thought I'd repost this here, since a lot of people seem to be in the same boat this year.

By the way, I haven't actually seen Girl Walk // All Day. I'm just a habitual liar.

Like Someone in Love is a film for all years! Pretty sure it didn't get nominated for anything last year so it would be eligible this year. Although, with no home video release in sight, it probably also wouldn't win anything.  :-\

You should definitely watch Upstream Color.

I seem to be really light on Docs and Animated films, two categories I usually am not. But alas, I've already sent in my ballot. About the only ones I could catch up on would be Monsters U and Planes anyway...

I wonder how different the results would be if you could sacrifice positive votes for negative (eg, forego submitting a #4 and #5 in a category to cast a -3 points against a film you couldn't stand in that category).
