Colonel_Mexico likes weird music
« on: February 07, 2014, 02:59:03 AM »
I'm going to try this since I enjoy weird music, here are a few choice songs I enjoy and they are strange...please feel free to respond with even more insanity, could be fun!  Also, I tend to lean toward heavier stuff, but please don't let that be a limitation in anyway

Listened to Glassjaw, a strange clip with a rather abrupt music end. I will work my way down the list. My first thought on reading your thread title was Slint. Here is one of the tracks off their album Spiderland:

Finished listening to the tracks in your first post. I did not know any of the bands but they reminded me lots of music I was into in the late 80s and early 90s. There is one compilation album called Crack in the Sun or Fade in the Shade; which had a lot of similar tracks. I will see if I can find it online. Found it:

Heading to bed now. I will skim through the tracks to pick out the better ones, if you would like.

Hey Dave thanks for the recommend, love that tune and pretty much exactly what I love about strange music.  Might have to browse some of Slint's other work if I can find any.

Gone through your first post Col. and am very impressed with the lyrics and sounds. So much to study here, so much catharsis. Rookie and World So Cold are the ones I spent the most time with, but then you've got Artist In The Ambulance there on the tail end and it's premise is unique and will stay with me the longest. I'll be back around for the next post. Great idea for a thread!

Looking forward to hearing those too, Martin.

Oh! I forgot to mention, that thanks to Dave, Breadcrumb Trail is now on my iPod. A truly wonderfully weird song. :)
