Yeah it has grown on me, I like it, the darkness the anti-hero version.  The not-so-white knight.

ah yes. Maybe it will be a song for Davey the stranger someday, or another of your poems. :)

Re: Holding out for a Hero.
The original is a song of hope. This version is a song of pain and desolation at the beginning, then slowly building to a position of hope, then on to determination. This creates a very different world view, one that is a story beyond just the words of the song.

Very well expressed, Dave. I went back to listen to it, with your words in mind.

I went back and gave Twenty One Pilots another chance, really love the two albums I listened to, particularly the new one.  Found this on youtube though, another cover, but I like it.

Thanks Davey for that, yes a story beyond the song, when I try to find moments to write that is what I seek the story beyond words, lyrics, thoughts, and those moments between reality and imagination.

I hope to return to Davey at some point Sandy, thanks for always following along :)

gosh, that's pretty

I should learn the chords. Got a ukulele for Christmas last year, but only practiced one song. :)

Great news! I hope so too.

I'll give Blurryface a spin. Thanks for calling attention to it.

I'll give Blurryface a spin.

Highly addictive! haha! Especially songs like, Stressed Out and Heavydirtysoul.

And then there are ones "I've been thinking too much" about, like Hometown, Message Man and Goner.

Deep waters to swim in here. I need some more sessions.

Goner may be my favorite at this juncture, with those first two right behind. Col., which ones are your favorites?

thank you!

But first, EL P's song. The line that most stands out is, "So how dare you assume that I'll sleep when you're dead." Biting, but crucial in it's message, both in 1st person and 2nd. You probably already know about the The Mars Volta guys help on the album, but Ikey Owens is in this song somewhere!

APC,
They have a woman guitarist! cool! All three songs confront me in a different way - faith, resignation, detachment... The words and music both nail down the coffin and urge me to pry them out! Strange.

Challenging, yet just the way I'd want it to be. :)
