A song for Sandy, I haven't seen the movie and the context of this song isn't exactly the same, but for whatever reason this popped into my head
Don't Speak
Oh, Col. it's a perfectly chosen song. Therapeutic on many of levels.
The little boy I was taking care of didn't know English and even though he was picking up the language quickly, much of our communication wasn't spoken. The last long night, holding him and trying to quiet his tears, instead of "hush, hush, darlin'" it was "shhh, it's going to be okay." Similar feeling as the song, because it's not nearly enough, but I'm not sure any words would have helped.
It's a memory I had tried to bury, unsuccessfully, but with processing and writing about the movie and this song, I'm allowing myself to look at it and find peace. Thank you so much for sharing this.
